This home suffered through a burst water line in the second floor master bath on Christmas Eve, which destroyed the master bath/bed area, the kitchen, laundry and half below the master bath was also destroyed, as well as the finished basement (rec area) suffered extensive damage. We completely rebuilt this home from top to bottom, adding in some custom details, as well as remodeling some other areas of the home that weren’t damaged, like the kids bath and bedrooms. We completed the whole project in a short few months, as we wanted to get them back into their home as soon as possible.
Our clients wanted to re-do the front facade of their home, removing the broken down front stoop and walkway and build a front porch to enjoy during the summer. They also wanted the porch to be covered, so that they can not only sit outside on a rainy day but to also reduce the higher scale of the front of the house, dress it up a bit, making it blend in more with the brick and tan colored siding. They are thrilled with the design that we created and the craftsmanship my team put forth.
We re-designed and remodeled not one, but two baths for our clients, demoing and rebuilding one bath at a time, so that they can use one bath as we rebuilt the other. The daughter’s bath was a tiny and very out-dated space, previously used as a Jack & Jill bath with an under-utilized closet between the bath and main hallway. We closed off both Jack & Jill doors that lead into the bath from each bedroom, and captured more space from the closet and made that the primary entrance from the main hallway into the new bath. Some of the features include a new tub with tiled walls, tub/shower fixtures and custom glass enclosure, and expansive linen closet, they love it!
Even the folks at This Old House would be amazed at this homes underlying challenges, but the end result was once again a stunning transformation. After demolition work was completed, the bones of the house needed an orthopedic surgeons touch for sure.
During our typical discovery portion of the design phase, we came to the conclusion to expand the kitchen into the adjacent dining room, as that space was under utilized most of the time. So, we removed a non-load bearing wall between the kitchen and dining room and added a large island that has plenty of space to gather around to entertain family and friends.
Our newlywed clients wanted to open up the kitchen and expand it into the existing first floor living spaces, rearranging rooms to make everything work; the goal was accomplished. We were able to expand and remodel the kitchen into the adjoining dining room, and move the dining room into the living room, which takes advantage of the dining room table being near the fireplace; a beautiful setting to be sure. Our clients are overjoyed with the outcome for their home.
It was important to re-design their kitchen, laundry room space and master bath, as well as other updates for the home now, so that they can enjoy those spaces for years to come.
Keeping an eye on the overall budget, like we do for all clients, we came up with a great plan to expand the kitchen a bit into the dining room, making it feel bigger by removing a non-load bearing wall between the kitchen and dining room, it made a huge difference.
We designed and built a large family room and space for a future kitchenette, bedroom with walk-in closet and a large bath that included a soaking tub, vanity and toilet, and beautiful custom tiled shower built for future handicap accessible needs.
Our long-time clients wanted to us to finish their last remaining project in their home. After remodeling and expanding their kitchen, remodeling their first floor, and remodeling their second floor bath, they wanted to basically blow up, re-design and update their bed/bath area.
Our client wanted to open up the space in and around the kitchen by removing the two walls that separated the kitchen from the formal dining room, eating area and family room.
Our client had a small rear deck and a brick paver patio. They wanted a larger deck with a roof to shield them from the sun and rain.
This particular client had master bath that was sorely needing an update, from the late dreary 80’s look to a more modern and brighter appearance.
This project involved a complete demo and rebuild of an original bath for home built circa 1920’s.
Our client’s kitchen was in a desperate need of a makeover, actually, it required more than a makeover, it was completely demolished down to exposed framing, expanded and rebuilt.
Our client’s dream was to celebrate the holidays around a tall Christmas tree, unfortunately their current house didn’t provide that kind of space for full family celebrations. Well, we certainly helped them fulfill their dreams.
Changing family needs and a desire for a modern and larger kitchen paved the way to designing a larger kitchen that is stunning and much more functional.
Our client recently retired to a new home in Mentor, they love their home and especially barbecuing in their backyard.
Pepper Pike Exterior Additions and Alterations
Our client was renovating the interior of the home by himself for a couple years and it was a very exhausting experience for him, he didn’t have the energy, time or expertise to tackle the much needed exterior work. He hired Dever Design & Build to design/build a new rear porch/patio area, as well as renovating the other exterior parts of the home.
