Mentor House Remodel by Dever Design and Build

Our newlywed clients wanted to open up the kitchen and expand it into the existing first floor living spaces, rearranging rooms to make everything work; the goal was accomplished. We removed and restructured two load bearing walls between the kitchen, dining room and living room, by installing laminated beams and support posts. We also had to creatively relocate supply ductwork that was inside the walls that fed the second floor bedrooms, this was accomplished by building a full length secondary interior wall against the exterior wall within the expanded kitchen space, this new wall allowed us to run the ductwork in two separate locations inside that new wall from the basement to the second floor… whew… that was a lot of work! It was definitely worth it, as we were able to expand and remodel the kitchen into the adjoining dining room, and move the dining room into the living room, which takes advantage of the dining room table being near the fireplace; a beautiful setting to be sure. We also updated the rear family room with the luxury vinyl floor and paint, as well as the entire first floor and steps. And, we remodeled the first floor half bath, second floor full bath and hallway. Our clients are overjoyed with the outcome for their home. Here are some of the products that we installed: Aristokraft Cabinetry with Berenson Hardware, Quartz countertops, Moen and American Standard plumbing fixtures, Meander River – Summit and Korlock Select – Oxford Grey luxury vinyl flooring, and Rain Garden – First Impression carpet (steps and second floor hall).
