Our client wanted to open up the space in and around the kitchen by removing the two walls that separated the kitchen from the formal dining room, eating area and family room. This was no small task as both walls were load bearing walls that supported the ceiling joists and roof structure, which required the installation of laminated beams. Complicating matters more, we had to install a lower ceiling and soffits to hide the different ceiling heights related to past remodeling work performed by the previous homeowner. In the end, we were able to create a visual interest within the first floor by adding two-member crown molding details that wrap around the lowered ceiling and soffits. We also added a wider window unit within the kitchen that brings in more natural light. Here are the some of products that we installed: Homecrest Waldron Maple Alpine perimeter cabinets and Homecrest Waldron Derby cabinets for the island, the island is an amazing 17′ long! We also supplied 3cm quartz countertops in Calacatta Laza, Crafted-Gray Gloss 3×12 tile backsplash in a brick lay pattern with light pewter Powergrout, Adura-Baltic Stone 12×24 luxury vinyl flooring (in the mudroom), Elkay 31×18 stainless steel double bowl under-mount sink, Moen Kurv touchless one-handle pull down faucet with motion sense wave in matte black finish, and Moen Kurv one-handle beverage/filtration in matte black finish.
Here’s what our clients had to say: “The transformation was stunning. Throughout every step of the process, Jack and his professional crew were excellent communicators, keeping us in the loop. Jack was a master at helping us visualize what the finished space would look like.” Jeff & Amanda C.
